NOAA Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR-HIRS)

The NOAA outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) dataset, derived from the High Resolution Infrared Radiation Sounder (HIRS) instruments on the NOAA TIROS-N series and Eumetsat MetOp satellites, is part of the Climate Data Record (CDR) produced by NOAA which provides daily global climate observations.

  • Temporal coverage = 1979-2016 (daily data), 1979-present (monthly data)
  • Temporal resolution = Daily, monthly
  • Spatial coverage = Global
  • Spatial resolution = 1 x 1 degree (daily data) and 2.5 x 2.5 degree (monthly data)
